Tripti SharanA medical doctor specialized in gynecology, Dr. Tripti Sharan works as a senior consultant in BLK super specialty hospital and is one of the most promising voices in the arena of contemporary English literature. With her distinctive style of writing in both prose and poetry, she occupies a significant place in the hearts of avid readers and literary enthusiasts.

Tripti was born in the historical city of Patna, the Indian city located on the southern edge of the Ganges and was fortunate enough to live and study in different cities during her formative years that probably helped in shaping her as what we see now. She showed a keen interest in reading, writing and contemplating on various themes linked to life and believed that writing makes her world happier and more spiritual.
During her literary career, she has been dabbling with both prose and poetry. Earlier her book on English poetry, The Dewdrops… a journey begins, was adjudged the best anthology in English poetry (2015) by ‘Aagman’ literary group.

An empowered woman is the face of a healthy civilization and she strives to empower women by promoting health. Her biggest challenge has been getting past the stereotypes and overcoming the misogynies prevalent in the society. Her book “The Chronicles of a Gynecologist’ published by Bloomsbury,is a powerful woman-centric book and is based on real life incidences. The book is also a reflection of the author’s journey as a doctor.

Besides being a blogger and a columnist with NDTV everylifecounts, TheBetterIndia, e-magazine ‘Different Truths’, she also contributes stories and poems to many anthologies. She recently came up with her poetry book ‘Shadows of a Fading Twilight’. While her next book, the story of Radha from the eyes of a 20th-century woman in verse, is already in the pipeline, she has started working on her ambitious project, The anecdotes of a medico, an interesting take on the life of a medical student.
